$25.00. Led by Aniko Kannas-Millan & Olivia Chapman Goss
Join us on an adult focused pre-sunset nature walk along the San Lorenzo River in beautiful Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Learn about the health of the river and its massive watershed, the resilient redwood trees that envelop it, and the journey of the mighty steelhead, while exploring along the San Lorenzo’s banks. We will combine California riparian habitat learning with calling on our senses and observations to connect with the more-than-human world and the forest around us.
We will walk approximately 2.5 miles starting on the River Trail over uneven terrain, so please wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes. Bring water, a walking stick if desired, and a light blanket or towel to sit or lay on for grounding/earthing moments. This experience will conclude with a period of rest and reflection under the canopy of the restorative redwood forest. If you’d like to bring a nature journal, we’ll provide the art tools!
This class is intended for anyone identifying as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color and their allies. Group size is limited, and advance registration is required. Meet at the Native Plant Garden adjacent to the Nature Store in the day use area of Henry Cowell. Those who register will receive more detailed directions and information via email.
