  • To help keep all participants safe, our policies follow CDC and local health guidelines. We recognize that public health and COVID guidelines evolve over time and we want everyone to feel safe. Redwood Rx classes are held almost entirely outdoors with ample personal space, masks optional.

  • We will gladly process your request for a refund if it is received at least five (5) business days prior to the beginning of the class. There is a 10% service fee, subject to a $5 minimum. We cannot accept requests for refunds if they are received fewer than five (5) business days prior to the class start date.

If you find at the last minute that you are unable to attend a class, you may send someone in your place. Contact Mountain Parks Foundation by email at redwoods@mountainparks.com prior to class start to provide the name of the person who will attend in your place. Please note that all students participating in a Redwood Rx class must be registered.

Classes with low enrollments are subject to cancellation. Students in classes that are cancelled by Redwood Rx will be offered a full refund.

  • Online: Online registration is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • The Redwood Rx team’s primary method of communication with students about a class is via email.

Students will receive email confirmation of registration and an email with additional instructions/information prior to class start. We also send information about class changes via email. Please check your email frequently and be sure we have your correct email address!

  • All classes have registration fees listed. Some classes have additional materials fees payable to the instructor at the start of class. Materials fees, if any, are also listed.

Forms of Payment: Class registration fees can be paid online with Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Materials fees paid to the instructor at the class must be paid by check or cash (no credit cards accepted).

  • We offer partial or full scholarships due to financial hardship depending on the circumstances. If you are interested, please send a brief email to redwoods@mountainparks.org answering the following five (5) questions. Please include REDWOOD RX DISCOUNT REQUEST in the subject line.

  • Are you an organization that would benefit from a Redwood Rx experience but may not be able to pay to participate? We want to hear from you!

  • We welcome all humans of any gender identity, culture, race, religion, sexual orientation and economic circumstance.

Unless noted otherwise, Redwood Rx classes are appropriate for people 18 years or older. If you wish to register someone under 18, please reach out to the Redwood Rx team first at redwoods@mountainparks.org or (831) 335-3174.

  • We look forward to the continued expansion of our program offerings and collaborations with community groups, instructors, and individuals interested in leading and participating in nature-based wellness programs in our redwoods state parks. To learn more about Redwood Rx opportunities and ways you can become involved, please contact us at redwoods@mountainparks.org.

  • Henry Cowell Redwoods and Big Basin Redwoods State Parks charge a day-use parking fee. Unless otherwise noted, parking is included in the class registration fee. Parking instructions will be provided to students who register for a class.

  • Redwood Rx classes welcome participants in attire that they feel most comfortable in. We recommend clothing that allows you freedom of movement and non-slip, closed-toed shoes. Most classes are located outdoors, please dress appropriately for the weather and bring layers. Be sure to consider sun protection and weather-appropriate outerwear. We also recommend you bring water.

  • Wellness is more closely associated with physical health and prevention of disease, while well-being is related to one’s overall happiness - Redwood Rx programs support and foster both!

  • Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present and aware of where we are and what we’re doing in the moment. When you bring awareness to what you are experiencing physically, mentally, or emotionally, you are being mindful. A growing body of research shows that when you train your brain to be mindful, you are transforming the physical structure of your brain and doing so can be good for your overall health and wellbeing.

  • WiFi and cell service are available in limited areas inside Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. Please note that depending on your carrier, service may be unavailable in more remote areas, including Fall Creek.
