The redwoods are calling! Experience nature’s embrace in community.
Big Basin’s redwoods have long been a place of refuge, renewal, and connection. Grieving here is not just an individual act—it is a contribution to the land itself. Grief is communal. By allowing the forest to hold and help heal our grief, we also bring a layer of healing back to this precious place, which continues to recover from the fires of 2020.
Here you can share your grief with others in a safe, supportive community. Throughout our time, you will engage in guided meditation, hands-on exploration, music, and a community-based ritual, all thoughtfully led by Grief and Nature Guides with over 20 years of experience.
Witness the beauty of regrowth in the redwoods and find inspiration in their ability to thrive after hardship. Come and feel the resilience of the land and how we are all interconnected with the cycles of nature.
Class meets at the Visitor Center in the main parking lot at Big Basin. During our time together we will walk a total of about 1 mile on a smooth trail, gathering at an unpaved location.
Class size is limited, and advanced registration is required. Those who register will receive more detailed information and directions via email.
