Sunday, September 22, 2024
10:00am - 4:00pm

Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Registration Fee: $120

Join us for an interactive workshop exploring ways to move through eco-anxiety and toward eco-action…. Wait, does that invitation already fill you with dread, guilt, anger, numbness, or a sense of powerlessness? You’re not alone! Whether you’ve directly experienced climate-related challenges or witnessed the ongoing global crises and looming existential threats, making space for your responses can offer insight into your personalized methods of effective action.

Using “The Work That Reconnects” model, we will gather together to better know our interconnectedness and power to act for the sake of life on Earth. In the root teacher, Joanna Macy’s, words: “The Work That Reconnects helps people discover and experience their innate connections with each other and the self-healing powers of the web of life, transforming despair and overwhelm into inspired, collaborative action.”

This workshop is open and accommodating to people with different physical abilities. Physical demands include gentle walking for approximately 1 mile and opportunities for more self-paced walks, although not required. We will spend more time sitting than walking.

Group size is limited, advance registration is required. Each participant will receive Active Hope: How to Face the Mess We’re in with Unexpected Resilience and Creative Power included with registration. Those who register will receive more detailed directions and information via email.
