Bring your social dog with a 6” leash and join our stroll along Pipeline Road. Enjoy the redwood forest and wildflowers with docent Dave Kuty along the way. Bring water and snacks for you and your dog. The walk is approximately 4 miles and about 2 hours in length.

Join docents Joanne Fuss and Kathie Leetham for this adventurous 6 mile, 3 &1/2 hour excursion that will ford the San Lorenzo – twice! You’ll also hike through cathedral redwoods, stop for views at the Observation deck, and picnic by the river. Moderate terrain. Suitable water shoes recommended. Bring lunch.

Docents at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park's remodeled visitor center are waiting to welcome you. Kids can learn about the animals that inhabit the park, and visitors from around the world can gain a feel for the park through the interactive exhibits. Once a year, Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park holds classes to introduce new volunteers to the park’s natural and cultural history. If you are a budding nature or history enthusiast, or you want to share your knowledge with others, this is the perfect time to sign up to become a volunteer. This year’s training group is now forming for classes that begin the evening of Wednesday, February 18. By taking a series of field trips and classes, you’ll be introduced to the special places, people, and features that highlight this parks natural and cultural history. Docents have the opportunity to share this park in many meaningful ways with park visitors, and it only takes 6 hours a month to be an active to volunteer.
